Khalid Shahin is a self taught Arabic Calligrapher and abstract artist, born in Palestine in 1966.  His first painting initially were applications of the light-dark technique to the worldly objects around us. Through time he tried to combine and integrate Arabic calligraphy with his abstract paintings to reflect the fibre qualities of paint in dough. Using the color paint realities, he directed himself in the direction of abstract works.

The fact that he used the concepts in the nature like Arabic letters, lines, curves, birth,existence,happiness, and freedom and use of concrete elements removed his work away from being monotonous.
Nature is established on the balance of the opposites. Khalid took take these realities into consideration in search of a balanced composition and design. He sometimes perceive, select and design concrete elements as abstract;in materializing his endless search in acrylic,oil,watercolors and mixed tecniques.
